Luna Joy IS NOT For The Win!

For the past year, I received mental health treatment through Luna Joy. Overall, my experience with my clinicians was excellent..
Thank You to my Clinicians that Treated Me
I had an amazing psychiatrist, Mukti Patel, and a wonderful therapist, Jayce Johnson.

Both genuinely cared about my mental health and made a meaningful difference in my life.
Jacye Johnson, LCSW
Jacye Johnson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and Georgia with over 20 years of experience helping children, teens, and adults. She specializes in depression, trauma, life transitions, stress, and women’s mental health, using therapies like DBT, CBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Known for her warm, collaborative approach, Jacye empowers clients with tools to improve their well-being and create lasting positive change.
To Mukti Patel, Thank You!

How She Changed My Life
I have had the privilege of working with Mukti Patel, and she has truly been life-changing for me. From the very first session, Mukti created a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where I felt heard and understood. She took the time to listen to my concerns and never rushed me, making it easy to openly discuss my anxiety, stress, and struggles with emotional eating.
Mukti’s approach is compassionate, personalized, and thoughtful—she never pressured me into medication but instead focused on my overall mental health and well-being. Her guidance helped me gain clarity, develop effective coping strategies, and feel empowered to take control of my life. Thanks to Mukti, I now feel supported and equipped to handle life’s challenges with confidence.
The End of Going to Luna Joy.....Chapter Ended.
Unfortunately, my relationship with Luna Joy as a provider has now ended, not because of the care I received from my clinicians, but because of the company’s poor customer service, unprofessional communication, and major issues with their scheduling and billing departments.
Poor Communication, Poor Billing: My Experience
When I say it was difficult to reach anyone about billing concerns, I mean it — it was a constant headache. Their communication is poor, both over the phone and through text messaging, and there was no clear process for resolving issues.
This is especially disappointing because Dr. Patel was one of the few psychiatrists I’ve had who did not push unnecessary medication. Throughout my life, I’ve often felt that psychiatrists were quick to medicate without truly listening, but Dr. Patel took the time to hear my concerns and respected my input. Likewise, Jayce Johnson helped me tremendously with DBT therapy, improving my mindset and even my relationship with food. Because of her guidance, I had been making real progress with emotional eating — something I’m unfortunately struggling with again now that I can’t see her.
At 43, I’ve seen mental health treatment evolve over the years, and I know there are great providers out there. Sadly, administrative and billing problems at Luna Joy have cost me access to two incredible clinicians. I believe many other patients will leave for the same reason if these issues aren’t addressed.
They can — and should — do better. The question is, will they?
Despite having amazing clinicians, Dr. Mukti Patel and Jayce Johnson, Luna Joy’s poor billing and customer service made it impossible to continue care. Calls and messages went unanswered, leaving me frustrated and forced to find another provider. It’s heartbreaking to lose such supportive mental health care due to administrative failures.
